Product overview

The APD-18HD combines four functional units — pay-off, tension frame, main cutting machine and take-up — into one coordinated system for cutting, coiling and winding heavy cable supplied on large drums.

Active tension control keeps feeding stable while an independent meter wheel measures length before each automatic cut. Length, quantity and speed are set from one touchscreen, and replaceable fixtures switch the take-up between coreless coiling and reel winding.

Applications

  • Optical cable manufacturing
  • Power and composite cable
  • FTTH, UTP and Ethernet cable
  • Armored cable distribution

Features

  1. 01

    Four units, one line

Pay-off, tension frame, cutter and take-up are coordinated from drum loading to finished coil.

  2. 02

    Active tension control

Controlled feeding keeps cable force within the allowable tensile limit.

  3. 03

    Independent metering

A separate meter wheel reduces length error caused by cable twist or feed slippage.

  4. 04

    Touchscreen + PLC

Set and monitor length, quantity and speed from a single operator interface.

  5. 05

    Foundation-free pay-off

Automatic electric drum lifting handles 5 t drums without a fixed foundation.

  6. 06

    Flexible take-up

Replaceable fixtures support coreless coiling and cable-reel winding with adjustable traverse.

Questions & answers

Which cables can it process?

Copper cable, jacketed fiber cable, UTP and Ethernet cable, armored cable, FTTH cable and similar constructions from Ø5 to Ø20 mm.

Does the pay-off need a foundation?

No. The pay-off is foundation-free and lifts drums electrically.

How is cut length measured?

An independent meter wheel measures the cable before the automatic cut, which reduces error from twist or slippage.
